On 13 September 1969 the cartoon, Scooby Do Where Are You? premiered on the US TV channel CBS.

The animation was created by  Joe Ruby and Ken Spears and produced by Hanna-Barbera .

The show followed the mystery adventures of 4 teenagers, Fred, Velma, Daphne and Shaggy who also has his dog, Scooby Do. They drive around in the ‘Mystery Machine’, solving mysteries at the end of which the villain is revealed by taking off his mask.

The show has been massively successful with lots of spin offs, including feature films.
