Starting off mainly dry with some brightness. Then becoming cloudy at times with showers or occasionally longer spells of rain spreading from the west. Windy with fresh to strong south or southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

This evening will see further showers. Then variable amounts of cloud overnight with showers, these turning fewer across Orkney later. Fresh to strong west or southwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Friday 18 September :

Bright spells and occasional showers, but more in the way of drier weather. Strong northwesterly winds at first across Shetland, otherwise less windy than of late. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Windy with showers on Saturday, strong southwesterly winds. Bright spells and fewer showers on Sunday, fresh westerly winds. Rain extending northeast for a time on Monday.
