Most days,  Mike takes an after-lunch constitutional.  Usually down to the Bay of Hinderayre then over the hill to the Hall of Rendall. 

He finds good things on the shore at Hinderayre, mostly stones and shells, but finds from the shore-line by the Hall of Rendall show evidence of a relatively high-grade residence there.

My favourite ‘find’ so far was a piece of slip-ware.

Closely followed by a single red rose from the Bay of Isbister, when he did a longer local walk.

More recently he brought home a little piece of pottery with   ‘PORT DUNDAS POTTERY CPY GLASGOW’  stamped into it

This caught my interest, so I Googled, to find, Port Dundas Pottery.

One of the pictures is of a stoneware bottle with a stamp just like the one on the piece that Mike brought home, so presumably it’s from a similar piece. 

I wonder what the story is behind that bottle making its way to the Hall of Rendall – and I covet the cabbage jug!
