This year’s annual Orkney Film Archive programme Billy’s Night Oot takes place at the Phoenix Cinema, Pickaquoy Centre, Kirkwall, on Friday 9th October and at the Cromarty Hall on Saturday 10th, both at 7.30pm.
This year’s programme features a mix of interesting Orkney Archive films including
- The Great Pageant (1937). Celebrating the 800th anniversary of St Magnus Cathedral. (courtesy of Mr James Miller)
- The Last Voyage of the Orcadia by Robert Foden
- A Life At The Forge, a documentary about South Ronaldsay blacksmith Willie Mowatt created by the Orkney Movie Group.
- Short films courtesy of Ken Amer.
- Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Pentland Ferries.
And much, much more.

The annual joyful celebration of local archive film is held in memory of former Phoenix Cinema projectionist Billy Scollie. This event will include an interval with tea, coffee and biscuits provided (included in the ticket price), and of course there will be a Raffle! All tickets £6.50, £5 concessions.
