Orkney will have a dry day with long sunny spells. Shetland may catch a light shower at first, then cloud breaking to allow sunny spells. Southwesterly winds will gradually freshen. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Dry through the evening with some clear spells at first but increasing high-level cloud and freshening southwest winds. Remaining dry over night with rather breezy conditions for Shetland. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Monday 19 October :

Dry throughout the day on Monday with sunshine somewhat hazy in the morning but becoming increasingly sunny in the afternoon. Likely cloudier again in the evening. Fresh southerly winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Turning widely cloudier on Tuesday and rather breezy, with an increasing risk of rain later. Remaining cloudy with some rain on Wednesday. Bright spells and showers on Thursday.
