Frequent showers for Shetland through the day, turning to more persistent rain for Orkney in the afternoon. Windy with severe gales developing for Orkney through the afternoon into the evening. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Tonight:
Rain in the evening, clearing Orkney by around midnight, and Shetland in the early hours. Severe gales for Orkney at first, gradually easing. Gales for Shetland for a time. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
Monday 26 October :
Bright spells and a few showers in the morning and wind easing down. Strong winds, showery rain return through the evening. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Very strong winds, showery rain through Tuesday. Winds easing through Wednesday with sunshine and showers. Dry with variable cloud and bright spells on Thursday
