A number of concerns were raised by Rhoda Grant, Labour MSP for the Highlands and Islands about the situation at Sumburgh Airport in Shetland.
MSPs were given assurances that the Board of Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd (HIAL) had learned lessons from the 5 years of the now discredited Remote Towers Scheme.
There are calls for an investigation into how HIAL handled the Remote Towers project and the spiralling costs it involved.
