Prospect members working in air traffic control for Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) are to stage a one day strike on 29 July over plans to centralise air traffic control in Inverness.
Around 40 towage workers employed by Shetland Islands Council (SIC) are set to begin an overtime ban on 5 July
“Prospect members have signalled with this vote that they are determined to stand firm against this disastrous project.”

Local Government workers, members of the trade union, Unite have voted to reject the COSLA pay offer by an overwhelming majority of 83.3%.
The trade union which represents the workers, Prospect, has given notice to HIAL that workers in Air Traffic Control will be escalating their industrial action over the Remote Towers project.
Air traffic controllers at Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd are to take industrial action.
If the air traffic controllers approve of this then a short strike would start on 4th of January 2021.
All proposed industrial action is now suspended until after the ballot result.
