Orkney looks set to face disruption to many of its council run services this autumn and winter. Council workers, members of trade unions have rejected the 2% pay offer from their employers.
All workers will be made redundant at the end of August as BP ended the contract for the vessel.
The pay deal will enhance the hourly wage for semi-skilled workers from £10.41 to £14 per hour, and for skilled workers from £11.62 to £16 per hour.
Around a dozen key workers will begin continuous strike action from 00:01 hours on Monday 20 June at the port of Lerwick, Shetland.
If the ballot for industrial action is successful then strike action could begin in August at the beginning of the new school term.
Workers at Marine Scotland in seafaring roles will take part in two separate periods of 48-hour strike action involving Marine Protection Vessels (MPV) Hirta on 26 and 27 May, and Jura on 3 and 4 June.
