“I search the shore for the perfect shape” -Jeanne Bouza Rose
“Jeanne was approached by The Wall Street Journal to write about her experiences as an American in Orkney. “
“When Jeanne started walking the Ring of Brodgar, with her wee dog Gracie, that prompted an outpouring of inspiration which was expressed in her paintings – both of the stones, and of what is seen out from the stones.”
“Jeanne is first and foremost an artist. Her joys, her concerns, are expressed in and through her art. Her art works change their form sporadically, which is healthy – it’s best if expression doesn’t stagnate.”
Artist Jeanne Bouza Rose has tackled her confusion and disappointment at the state of politics in her home country of the USA in her new work. It can be viewed in the windows of the Northlight Gallery Stromness.
” We drove along to the main Brodgar car park, and walked up to The Ring, where we encountered Jeanne”
“And so, between the reality of the sky above and the surrounding lochs and land, I looked into the trenches and saw the brightest of earthy colours to use in my painting.”
