“In what remains an exceptionally difficult time for us all, this funding is providing fast, tangible support to deliver long-lasting benefits to community based organisations while also helping them tackle climate change as we accelerate our just transition to a net zero society.”
All donations will go to Orkney Blide Trust , for Mental Health Awareness Week
Yesterday we went along to the open day at Orkney Blide Trust, here is what we discovered.
Orkney Blide Trust is one of 22 organisations and projects to benefit from a £4million Scottish Growth Fund to address poverty and social exclusion.
Almost immediately the volunteer archaeologists began to unearth significant finds.
This is only the start of what is a most exciting and interesting project set in the heart of Kirkwall.
The pit will be dug to a depth of 1.2m and finds will be sifted, cleaned and recorded.
“And the secret garden bloomed and bloomed and every morning revealed new miracles.”
Orkney Blide Trust has secured funding from the National Lottery to investigate the history of their building at 54 Victoria Street, Kirkwall.
