Priority 2 and 3 roads (back roads) have not been assessed or treated yet since overnight and there is the likelihood of encountering deep drifts.

Police Scotland and Orkney Islands Council are urging people not to venture out on the county’s roads unless their journey is absolutely essential.
Orkney has one of the highest uptakes of EV’s in the country with some 250 and about 10,000 fossil fuelled vehicles.
Orkney Islands Council will be carrying out road maintenance on Victoria Street and Graham Place, Stromness, between Church Road and Dundas Street.
