An opinion piece by veteran Cliff Purvis who joined the Army in 1978 – originally from Thurso he now lives near Edinburgh.

Veterans Breakfast (partners welcome) last Saturday of each month at Eat n Treats cafe.

We had a most enjoyable veterans breakfast at Eats N Treats Kirkwall on Saturday 31st March.

A reminder that this coming Saturday, 31st March, is the Veterans Breakfast at Eats n Treats in Kirkwall.

There was a good turn out today for breakfast parade on Saturday 24th Feb.

Membership is open to all Serving and Retired Armed Forces Personnel and their partners.

The Monthly (last Saturday in the Month) Breakfast was held at “Eats n Treats” in Kirkwall .

There are 1100 registered veterans in the islands.

‘the core values of the Armed Forces fits with the Orkney community…..looking after one another and working with others.’

Veterans Breakfast Club on the last Saturday of each month. Banter and memories abound.
