Dan Lee from UHI Archaeology Institue has descibed the success of the excavations at The Palace Village Birsay.

He said:

“We’ve found medieval middens and structures in most trenches. The schools outreach has been successful despite the weather!”

“Many thanks to those of you who have helped out during the excavations.”

“There are a few more activities to come on the project, such as geophysical survey and walkover survey at Manse Stone sites, and noust survey at Marwick. ”
