As I walked down the garden to feed the birds this morning (3^rd March), I thought I heard “Ribbit, Ribbit.” So, I stood still, then approached the pond very carefully, and…there were the first frogs of the year!  Big ones, too. The one in the photo took no notice of me, the others hid. There was one pair mating, but they were under the weed, so I couldn’t get a picture. I also saw a big Water-boatman – the first of the year. March – Spring!
