Aquatera Wins Tidal Power Contract in Japan
Local MSP John Finnie, Scottish Greens, submitted a motion last week to the Scottish Parliament congratulating Orkney based Aquatera on winning a contract on a tidal power project in Japan.
The Motion stated:
“That the Parliament congratulates the Orkney-based energy and environmental services firm, Aquatera, on winning a consultancy contract to support a tidal power project in Japan; understands that Aquatera will conduct an environmental impact assessment for underwater turbines as part of a proposed tidal test site in Nagasaki; believes that projects such as this demonstrate that Scotland is leading the world in marine renewables, and encourages both the Scottish and UK governments to provide greater investment in this area.”
