Lance Corporal Callum Brown’s Case Taken up by Veteran’s Minister

Keith Brown, Veteran’s Minister in the Scottish Government, has written to the UK Government over the refusal by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham to continue with Lance Corporal Callum Brown’s treatment.

  1. Here here! An important issue regarding what a national health service should be about. The best care for injured British servicemen and women is a right that the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland should provide without question. This is even more important in the light of major specialist led centres which are more often than not under current English NHS funding allocations. We should have one NHS and then this type of situation could not occur.

The British Government loves to kid-on that it’s a ‘Big Player’ and sends our young men and women into these dangerous situations so I’ve always held that if their troops get injured then they then have a life-long responsibility to ensure that they are cared for and are able to live in a reasonable degree of comfort.
