HMS  Queen Elizabeth on sea trials, entering Scapa Flow from the Hoxa sound on the 2nd August 2017.

She then travelled in towards Scapa pier towards the buoy marking the wreck of HMS Royal Oak, which was torpedoed by the Germam u boat U-47, commanded by “Kapitanleutnant Gunter Prien”

It was 100 years to the day, that a Sopwith biplane, flown by Squadron Commander Edwin Dunning, touched down on the deck of HMS Furious. Sadly a week later he lost his life attempting to land again on HMS Furious, a crash landing coupled by strong winds blew him overboard.
