Orkney Builders (Contractors) Ltd. has been awarded the contract for the construction of the replacement St Peter’s House in Stromness.
The new St Peters House will replace the current 32-bed facility with a modern 40-bed facility at Garson.
Caroline Sinclair, Chief Officer for Orkney Health and Care, said:
“The whole staff team are so pleased to see this project moving forward. It will provide a much needed modern, fit for the future, care facility for people who need residential care and we look forward to working with Orkney Builders on this great project.”
The care home is planned for completion in 2019 with a total project cost of £9m.
Stephen Kemp Managing Director of Orkney Builders (Contractors) Ltd. commented:
“We’re delighted to have been selected to lead this project for Orkney Islands Council. The project will have fantastic benefits to our local supply chain and our community, with potential community benefits a key factor in our contract obligations. We look forward to creating another top quality care home for the Orkney community.”
At last – for a change – an Orkney company is chosen for a big contract!
As Stephen Kemp says:-
“The project will have fantastic benefits to our local supply chain and our community, with potential community benefits a key factor in our contract obligations.”
I’m very pleased to see this.
