Orkney Builders (Contractors) Ltd. has been awarded the contract for the construction of the replacement St Peter’s House in Stromness.
The new St Peters House will replace the current 32-bed facility with a modern 40-bed facility at Garson.
Caroline Sinclair, Chief Officer for Orkney Health and Care, said:
“The whole staff team are so pleased to see this project moving forward. It will provide a much needed modern, fit for the future, care facility for people who need residential care and we look forward to working with Orkney Builders on this great project.”
The care home is planned for completion in 2019 with a total project cost of £9m.
