Bird n Berries

Rowan Berries

The birds are eyeing up

the plump Rowan Berries,

singing and chattering

positively merry.

Dancing round and feeling proud,

they know that summers over.

They’re gathering up the bright red jewels,

they’re stocking up for winter.

When the cold winds blow

threatening snow,

their feathers growing thinner.

They’re not sure

when they’ll feast again,

on such a scrumptious

abundant dinner.
