Free tickets are again being made available for Historic Environment Scotland sites in their annual St Andrews Day giveaway over the weekend of Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of November. 

Booking the tickets is essential but in Orkney you can get free entry to Maeshowe and Skara Brae. You can book them here.

Stephen Duncan, Director of Commercial and Tourism at HES, said:

“We want to encourage communities to learn more about Scotland’s past, and exploring our sites is a great way to do this. If there’s a site on your doorstep that you haven’t visited before, now is the time!

“Our Ticket Giveaway Weekend always proves to be very popular so we would encourage people to register online through our dedicated website as soon as possible.”

Booking is open until  5pm on Friday 24 November to register online for free tickets.

You can apply for as many attractions as you want to but it is better to book early and sites like Maeshowe are limited in the number of visitors they can accommodate.
