Simon Tarry of EMDROrkney
Simon Tarry of EMDRORKNEY has launched a form of psychotherapy that he says will help children deal with issues caused by psychological trauma, nightmares, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bedwetting. EMDRORKNEY believes that with this therapy children and adolescents will respond faster than other talking therapies.
Simon Tarry said:
“EMDR was developed in the 1980’s by an American psychologist Francine Shapiro. It is recommended by NICE ( National Institute of Care Excellence), WHO ( World Health Organisation) and other worldwide authorities for treating PTSD. It can only be carried out by a professional mental health practitioner.
“EMDR works by “metabolising the emotions of the trauma”. In other words the emotions, feelings and thoughts that are linked to the memory that cause the problem are processed away.”
