Poetry Corner: Shadows of the Night

Mum and dadBy Christie Grahame

Day after day so breaks the dawn

As dark gives way to light,

To chase the fears that linger on

As shadows of the night.

I have no fear, if waking morn

Is dull and overcast,

With sunshine rays cut off and shorn

By winter’s stormy blast.

For I shall see with morning eyes

That,wakened opened wide,

Upon my life, my love that lies

Yet sleeping by my side.
