Unwanted Musical Instrument? Pass It On

music imageDo you have a musical instrument, perhaps more than one, sitting unused in a cupboard somewhere?

For Pass It On Week Orkney Islands Council’s Instrumental Music Service will have collection points at any  local school between 12th and 16th March where you can donate your unused musical instruments. Instruments of all types and sizes would be welcome, as well as accessories such as spare strings, music stands and sheet music.

Lynn Procter, Principal Teacher Expressive Arts, said:

“It goes without saying Orkney has a thriving music scene, and there’s a huge interest among pupils to try out a range of instruments.

“We hope therefore that the Orkney public will get behind this musical amnesty and hand in instruments and accessories that are maybe not getting the attention and use they deserve, so we can improve and increase the experiences offered to pupils.”
