The ever popular Northlink cruise took place on Sunday 20th May as part of the Orkney Nature Festival. The event was completely sold out well before the departure date.
It set off from Stromness at 1pm and lasted about 3 hours.
Despite choppy seas the views around the cliffs of Hoy were awe inspiring. RSPB workers and volunteers were on hand to help out with the identification of wildlife seen.
For those indoors music was provided by some members of the band Skeldro.
And Mark Cook of AFRAYEDKNOT was there demonstrating his craft.
A magnificent buffet of Orkney fare was served up by Northlink Ferries and for those who wanted something stronger to drink – that was also available.
The cruise was a great way for all ages to appreciate the beauty of Orkney and its wildlife.
Northlink staff deserve praise for their handling of the event and such a large number of the public.
Then it was back to Stromness and for the crew a quick clear up before the next scheduled sailing.
