Whether you are a visitor to Orkney or a resident Bernie Bell’s Walks are a good way to enjoy the landscape of the islands.
In Bernie Bell: Orkney Walks (With Stories) – Warbeth Bernie explores the area at Warbeth and beyond.
If, however, you are walking from the direction of the Stromness Camp Site there are several interesting features which remind you of the town’s links with the sea and its wartime past.
The site of the old Stromness lifeboat launch station could easily be missed if you don’t take your time to dander about.
And the further you walk along the pathway you come across increasing numbers of structures from both World Wars.
It’s a fabulous easy walk where you can take your time. The views are stunning over to Hoy, the golf course looks fabulous and there is even a seat conveniently located where you can take it all in.
