The Orkney News Team 2019

As we enter the 2nd year of The Orkney News it’s a big welcome to all our new readers and a huge thank you to our existing ones who have stayed with us on this journey.

The Orkney News is a not for profit company with 5 Directors and many contributors. Everyone is a volunteer. We set up The Orkney News to give a voice to those who were not being heard in our community and to publish evidence based articles.

The 5 Directors are:

Kenny Armet

Helen Armet

Helen is the sub editor. Amongst her articles are  the extremely popular home cooking recipes and videos  which are designed for those on a limited budget. She is pictured with Bandit who features in one of our most popular stories.

Fiona Grahame

Fiona is the editor and writes a range of news items and some opinion pieces.

Martin Laird

solsticehowl Martin Laird

Martin is the IT guru and artist. He takes care of all the technical stuff and writes for us too.

Nick Morrison

Our roving reporter Nick is also a military veteran. He is our science guy.

And we couldn’t do any of it without all the wonderful contributions that are sent in to us.

Sgathaich, Bernie Bell, Mike Bell, Aife, Nephrite, Eamonn Keyes, Dream Angus, Richard Wallace, Duncan Lunan, Zara Pennington, Alex Tiffin, Njal Heddle, Noel Donaldson, Alec Ross, Laura Muncie, John Mowat, Monika Armet and all the letter writers – not forgetting the local politicians and those who have shared their photographs with us. Apologies if I have missed anyone.

If you want to send us your views, photographs or publicise an event you are holding then email: fiona@theorkneynews.scot
