Reaching Customers Outside of Orkney– The Kyloe Story
“Reaching Customers Outside of Orkney” was the first talk from a group aiming to bring together businesses seeking customers outside of Orkney. It was a sold-out event, and this showing the abundance of Orkney’s entrepreneurial spirit.
Finn Macleod focused on the size of the opportunity outside of Orkney as well as hacks on creating a tipping point for your social media following and maximising your online search opportunity. Sacha Woolham showed how you can make your website and digital strategy more effective, looking at some of the masters in retail and applying this to a new start up website, showing a few tricks on how they can create more sales.
“It was great to see so many different businesses represented. Both from start-up to more established organisations. There is a genuine interest in how to grow businesses online. We hope that through the series of talks, we can continue the conversation as well as bringing people together.” Says Sacha Woolham.
Following on from this successful evening, Talk 2 – The Kyloe Story, will be taking place on 12th February with doors opening at 7pm for a 7.30pm start at Kirkjuvagr Gin Distillery. Stewart Morgan will be sharing his experience of growing a global company from Orkney, now with over 50 employees worldwide. Kyloe has a footprint in the US, UK and Australia – but their headquarters are here in Kirkwall in the well known old Grooves building.
Also Dyan Owen will join via Video Call. Dyan is a Senior Account Director at international PR firm Weber Shandwick. Dyan will talk about agency approaches to digital growth, before answering any questions from local business.
There will be an opportunity both before and after for people to share their experiences and stories, whilst enjoying a gin from the bar.
