There are times when you go to Skaill Bay, and it’s sand – a big sweep of sand. Other times, after a storm, the sea has scoured it, and it’s rock – big stretches of flat rock, dotted with boulders.
Just one of the reasons it’s such a special place – always changing.
And, when the sea has scoured the rocks, you can sometimes find things in them… https://theorkneynews.scot/2017/11/26/the-things-you-find-on-an-orkney-beach/
I love the story of the seaweed “ghosts”, and the long stretches of waves in the bay photos.
