Numbers of positive tests continue to rise for COVID-19, coronavirus in Scotland.
A total of 6,091 Scottish tests have concluded. Of these:
- 5,864 tests were confirmed negative
- 227 tests were positive
The NHS in Scotland has been placed on emergency footing with all non-urgent care postponed.
“Vital cancer treatments, emergency, maternity, and urgent care will continue, and patients have our assurance that all appointments will be rescheduled as quickly as possible as we get through the challenge to our NHS that COVID-19 presents.” Jeane Freeman, Scottish Health Secretary
All schools and nurseries are to close from Friday, 20th March, although many parents have already chosen to remove their children from school.

For older people Age Scotland have a help line : 0800 12 44 222 Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm.
This is a free phone line and has been boosted by additional funding from the Scottish Government of £140,000
