‘Tradition’ Between The Islands Film

The Between the Islands Project has released a third film  by film maker Zoe Paterson Macinnes and it is now available to view.

Entitled “Tradition”, it is on the subject of the “guga hunt”, or bird harvesting trip made annually by the men of Ness, and features an interview with John “Dods” Macfarlane.

Zoe was one of the participants in the inter island student exchange as part of the Year of Young People in 2018, when she travelled to Shetland to make a short film.

The work of another of the inter island placements from that time – Shetland textile student Helen Laurenson – is on sale in An Lanntairs shop.

Helen Laurensen has also recently graduated and is producing island inspired designs using the brand name Variorum.

The products we are stocking are limited edition and inspired by her trip to Lewis.https://www.facebook.com/Variorumofficial
