Heather Woodbridge has been elected to serve as a councillor for the North Isles ward on Orkney Islands Council.

The result of the count which took place on Friday 2nd of October was:
Daniel James Adams – 42.
Coilla Anne Drake (Scottish Labour Party) – 158.
Claire Stevens (Independent) – 75.
Heather Woodbridge (Independent) – 638.
Turnout: 50.7% on a mainly postal ballot.
Heather Woodbridge commented:
“Thank you for this opportunity. I am so proud to the representing the North Isles as my father did before me.”

When I saw this result, I thought “Thank goodness! That’s one more genuine, non-self-serving person on the Council.”
