Stay at Home & Meet for VACMA Grant Information

Artists and craft makers interested in pursuing a VACMA (Visual Artists and Craft Makers Award) grant from Orkney Islands Council can join a ‘Stay Home & Meet’ event on Wednesday evening, 2nd December to find out more about the process.

The informal event will take place over Zoom between 7pm-8.30pm.

Attendees will be able to meet Creative Scotland Visual Arts Officers, panel members and staff from OIC Arts Development to discuss the VACMA grant, in advance of the 2 February 2021 application deadline.

Emma Gee, Orkney Islands Council’s Arts Development Officer explained:

“Creative Scotland has made changes to the Visual Arts and Craft Makers Awards due to the impact of Covid-19, so we’d urge anyone with an interest in applying – particularly emergent/graduate artists who are new to this fund – to join us and find out more. Refreshments will be down to you this time!”

Please register interest with Emma Gee on emma.gee@orkney.gov.uk, Education, Leisure and Housing Services, Council Offices, School Place, Kirkwall, KW15 1NY.

Visual Artist and Craft Maker Award (VACMA) offers small grants to visual artists and craft makers for creative development at all stages of their career.
