Some bright or sunny intervals, but with scattered sleet and snow showers. A cold day with mostly moderate easterly winds over Shetland, though likely fresher winds over Orkney. Maximum temperature 2 °C.


Some clear spells, but still cold with wintry showers these heaviest and most frequent over Orkney where easterly winds will still be quite brisk. Minimum temperature -2 °C.


Some bright or sunny spells, but with further wintry showers. Some heavy showers, but drier over Shetland with more in the way of sunshine. Remaining cold, but lighter easterly winds. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Clear or sunny spells and mostly light winds. Staying cold with further wintry showers, though generally well scattered, but heavier and more frequent showers Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
