The early mornings are much noisier as we move well into Spring and birds take over with their dawn chorus.
But for most of us we probably are only able to identify a few birds from the songs they sing.
Help is at hand. The RSPB has produced a Bird Song Identifier that will take you through the most common garden birds.
- House Sparrow
- Starling
- Blue Tit
- Woodpigeon
- Blackbird
- Goldfinch
- Great Tit
- Robin
- Long Tailed Tit
- Magpie
- Chaffinch
- Greenfinch
- Song Thrush
- Dunnock
- Wren
- Coal Tit
- Blackcap
- Chiff Chaff
- Collared Dove

What a brilliant help this is to those of us who love birds, feed them regularly and want to know more about them but can’t identify them by their song/chatter
I will keep this on my computer and try to learn each species song/chatter as they visit our garden
Thanks again to RSPB and Orkney News on line
