Another bitterly cold day with strong to gale force northwesterly winds bringing further snow showers. Showers may group to give a longer period of snow combined with storm force winds for a time in the afternoon across Shetland. Maximum temperature 3 °C.
Tonight:
Northerly gales continuing with frequent snow or hail showers overnight. Winds slowly easing through the night. Frost again for most areas. Minimum temperature -2 °C.
Wednesday 7th April:
Winds easing with snow showers dying out later in the morning to leave a mainly dry afternoon with some sunny spells, a few showers lingering for Shetland. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Rain on Thursday morning then bright and showery later, milder. Colder and very windy again on Friday with frequent showers turning back to snow, more showers on Saturday, less windy.
