Weather Forecast: Rather cloudy start but becoming brighter

Today 25th April:

A rather cloudy start with a few light showers across Shetland. However it will become brighter across Orkney through the morning with sunny spells developing for the afternoon, these brighter conditions spreading to Shetland later. Light winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.


A dry evening with sunny, then clear, spells. Cloud increases overnight with outbreaks of rain reaching Orkney towards dawn with a southerly breeze developing. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Monday 26th April:

A cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, the rain most persistent and perhaps occasionally heavy across Orkney through the morning. Occasionally fresh southeasterly winds turning more northeasterly later. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain on Tuesday giving way to more showery conditions through Wednesday and Thursday with some brighter spells developing. Cold, occasionally strong northerly or northeasterly winds.
