Advocacy Orkney would like to thank all those who have donated to their online crowdfunding page. With one week left to go for the month-long campaign, the page has raised over £1,700.

This far surpasses the modest goal of £500 the charity initially set for the online campaign.
Advocacy Orkney set up the page after it became public knowledge that the third sector organisation was facing a £56,000 shortfall due to funding from Orkney Islands Council & NHS Orkney being removed. Advocacy Orkney: Fighting to Keep its Service Going
The Chair of Advocacy Orkney Serena Sutherland said:
“When we set up the page, we wouldn’t have imagined that this much would be donated. The generosity of the public in Orkney, and further afield, has been humbling.
“Although the full story behind the charity’s funding crisis has not been made public, people have been willing to show their support with quite substantial donations.
“We believe this shows public confidence in the service we have been providing for over ten years. It has been a morale boost for everyone involved with the charity during this difficult time.
“From myself and everyone at Advocacy Orkney, thank you.”
Advocacy Orkney’s crowdfunding page will remain active until Monday, June 28. It can be found at: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/save-advocacy-orkney
