August the Thirteenth………………..Hare Alert!……..Alert Hare…………..

August the Fourteenth………………Getting ready for next year’s poppies….Still some flowering though….Beautiful shades of lilac, deep purple, red……..A few weeks ago….

August the Fifteenth…………..Face to face with a lava flow at the Point of Ayre, Tankerness.  Just think – that was molten rock – flowing………..https://theorkneynews.scot/2019/01/05/orkney-walks-more-matters-geological/

August the Sixteenth………..I like the look of ripple-rock….I also like the look of sun-lit ripples over rocks…….

August the Seventeenth……………..Mike making tea…….Listening to Thomas Fraser…….. Burra’s Best……

August the Eighteenth………….The fungi are starting to appear again………….Something’s had a nibble at this one………….

That reminds me of when we lived in Suffolk, went for a walk down the marshes near where we lived, and picked what we thought were ‘normal’ edible mushrooms.  We put them in a veg. pie, which we enjoyed, but then felt very peculiar – not ill – just….peculiar.  You do need to be careful – and knowledgeable – with fungi!

August the Nineteenth……………Looking for a photo from a holiday in 1997…..Got the albums out…..Found the photo….And a lot of other good memories too…
