8 New #Covid Cases in Orkney

The cumulative total of Covid cases in Orkney is now at 313 as 8 new positive tests have been recorded in the Health Board area.

From 16th to 22nd September the cases in Orkney were as follows:

West Mainland: 10

Stromness, Sandwick, Stenness: 7

East Mainland: 0 – 2

North Isles, Linked South Isles, Hoy, Flotta: 0 – 2

The stats for Scotland published on 25th September 2021 are as follows:

  • 3,261 new cases of COVID-19 reported
  • 40,397 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
    • 8.8% of these were positive
  • 18 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
  • 79 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
  • 1,005 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
  • 4,172,573 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,824,074 have received their second dose

Deaths:

  • on 24 September, 50 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
  • in the week ending 19 September, 135 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate

Since the start of the outbreak:

  • 8,514 people have died who have tested positive as at 24 September
  • 10,826 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 19 September
  • 31% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 62% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 19 September)
