Dry, bright weather over Orkney with sunny spells extending to Shetland for the afternoon. Light northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

A dry night with long clear periods and light winds. Turning chilly. Cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain will edge in from the southwest, reaching Orkney towards morning. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Thursday 30th September:

Dry bright morning over Shetland. Rain and strong southerly winds over Orkney, extending to Shetland by the afternoon. Drier, brighter weather following to Orkney with winds easing. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

An unsettled few days with areas of low pressure passing close to the Isles. There will be showers or some longer spells of rain. Windy at times too.
