‘Light the North’ Auction Catalogue & Info

By Bernie Bell

I previously wrote an article for TON in which I told of the ’Light the North’ lighthouse auction on behalf of Clan cancer charity  https://theorkneynews.scot/2021/08/19/i-want-to-marry-a-lighthouse-keeper/ , and the good people at Clan Cancer Support have now sent me the auction catalogue ……

…..and some additional information about the trail and the auction, as follows……

The 10-week ‘Light the North’ lighthouse trail, in partnership with Wild in Art, has been embraced by the people of the North-east – individuals, families, artists, local businesses, community groups & schools have all been fully immersed in this colourful, exciting trail across the country whilst raising funds for Clan Cancer Support.

The lighthouse sculptures each represent a safe haven, a beacon in a storm, navigation through troubled waters – all very much aligned with Clan’s aims. They now hold a special place in the heart of the artists who created them, the people who have visited them and Clan’s service users who will ultimately benefit from them.

The legacy of Light the North will continue when all 50 large lighthouse sculptures and 8 small lighthouses take centre stage in our auction finale to raise funds for

Clan Cancer Support. This event is kindly supported by ANM Group:

Thainstone Exchange, Inverurie

Monday 1st November 2021

6pm – 10pm

Cancer patients have been particularly hard hit during the pandemic due to delays in diagnosis and treatment. Clan helps people live with and beyond a cancer diagnosis, but we need your support to continue being here for them.

Would you like to be the proud owner of a lighthouse sculpture and continue this legacy?  Whether it’s to brighten your office, make a statement in your garden or to give someone special the ultimate surprise gift, your support will go on to aid essential cancer support services for people, right in the heart of your communities all across the North-east.

If you would like to bid, you can complete the auction form here .

For anyone interested in attending online, registration details on how to register will follow shortly once you have completed the auction form.

In the meantime should you wish to preview all of the lighthouses before they’re auctioned, you can attend the Farewell Weekend at the Gordon Barracks by booking your ticket and time slot here

If you have any queries or have difficulty completing the form, please do not hesitate to contact :-
