It will be a mainly dry and bright day with some sunny spells, although a cloudy start possible over Shetland. Isolated showers cannot be ruled out, mainly this morning, and winds will be light from the northwest. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Tonight:
Dry at first, but cloud thickening with outbreaks of rain pushing into Orkney this evening and Shetland overnight. Winds picking up from the southeast, becoming strong at times. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Thursday:
Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy. A few drier and brighter spells possible over Orkney. Fresh southerly winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain on Friday, although a dry and bright start possible. Rain gradually clearing on Saturday, then bright and windy with some showers on Sunday.
