The cloudy, damp conditions over Orkney will extend to much of Shetland by the afternoon, some heavier burst of rain pushing into Orkney later. The southeasterly winds becoming fresh or strong. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Outbreaks of rain and drizzle this evening, heavy and persistent at times. Drier and clearer conditions developing over Orkney by midnight, then Shetland in the early hours. Winds easing. Minimum temperature 9 °C.
Tuesday 19th October:
Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, heavy at times. However, a bright start possible in Orkney and Shetland mainly dry in the morning. Light or moderate southerly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Cloudy with outbreaks of rain on Wednesday. Brighter and colder on Thursday with bluster showers and strong north or northwest winds. Showers dying out and winds easing on Friday.
