A bitterly cold day with northerly winds strengthening through the day, bringing wintery showers. These most frequent across Shetland, and turning heavier through the day. Maximum temperature 3 °C.
Tonight:
Strong northerly winds with frequent heavy showers or rain, sleet, snow and hail. Some thunder is possible too. Showers become less frequent later in the night. Minimum temperature -2 °C.
Thursday 2nd December:
A bright but cold day, the best of the sunshine in the morning. Any remaining wintry showers largely die out by lunchtime. Clouding over in the afternoon. Winds easing. Maximum temperature 3 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Rain moving east on Friday, clearing to a few showers later. Further showers Saturday and Sunday, but likely to turn lighter and less frequent.
