The cumulative total of Covid cases in Orkney is now at 931 as 8 new positive tests were recorded in the Health Board area.
From 23rd to 29th of November 2021 there were 25 new positive Covid tests recorded in Orkney. The positivity rate was 4.7%
The stats published for Scotland on 2nd December 2021 are as follows:
- 3,002 new cases of COVID-19 reported
- 42,819 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
- 7.4% of these were positive
- 27 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive
- 48 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 680 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 4,349,058 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 3,953,170 have received their second dose, and 1,755,694 have received a third dose or booster

One year ago, on 2nd of December 2020, Orkney had a cumulative total of 38 Covid cases. For Scotland the total was 96,762.
- get the vaccine or the vaccine booster
- if you don’t have symptoms take regular lateral flow tests – especially before mixing with other people
- wear a face covering where required
- if you have symptoms – self isolate and book a PCR test
- wash your hands regularly, and cover your nose and mouth if coughing or sneezing
- open windows when meeting indoors
- if you can, keep your distance from people not in your group
- work from home if possible
- use the apps: COVID status (vaccine passport), Protect Scotland and Check-in Scotland
