Today 6th December:

Southerly gales will bring outbreaks of rain, some heavy during morning. Drier, brighter weather reaching Orkney late in morning, extending to Shetland during afternoon with winds easing. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

There will be some clear intevals along with a few showers, these more frequent over north Orkney and west Shetland. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Tuesday 7th December:

A good deal of dry and bright day with some sunny spells and just the odd isolated shower. Easterly gales developing in evening bringing rain or showers. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

A showery few days especially on Wednesday when easterly gales are expected. WInds easing by Friday.
