A good deal of dry and bright weather with some sunny spells and just the odd light shower. Light winds during the day then easterly gales developing later this evening. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Cloudy and windy with outbreaks of rain. Rain will be persistent and heavy at times over Orkney but more patchy across Shetland. Strong or gale force easterly winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Wednesday 8th December:
Staying cloudy and windy with Orkney seeing the most persistent rain, still heavy at times. Drier weather over Shetland but some rain edging northwards. Strong to gale force easterly winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Rather cloudy on Thursday with frequent showers and strong southeast winds. Showers will be fewer on Friday with lighter winds, then rain and strengthening winds arriving later on Saturday.
