Something To Brighten A Wintry Day

Storm Arwen had just hit, and passed over Orkney. We watched the plants in our garden blowing about like mad things – I was going to say wild things, but….they are!

Pleased to see that Mike’s partly built mini-broch stayed put – didn’t blow away or apart – just stood there, looking wonderfully solid – as Brochs do.

The weather meant that Mike was in the garage, out of the snow, making a start on a roof for it.  Hurrah!

Then, on the tail of Arwen, snow.  Snow on the garden, putting paid to gardening, snow on the hills – v. v. cold out but looking lovely in the sunshine.

Driven in by the next shower – on the computer – watching the snow and the neighbours sheep sheltering from it by a good solid stone shed ……

And…..I saw something to brighten the day and take my mind to summer – still stony structures – but ones which we only see in the summer as they’re covered over for most of the year.

I’ll get to the point – THE DATES FOR THE NESS OF BRODGAR DIG 2022 HAVE BEEN REVEALED!!!

Put them on your calendar!!!

Meanwhile – Christmas presents from the shop?  https://www.nessofbrodgar.co.uk/shop/

I just don’t give up do I?  I have been likened to a terrier with a stick.
