Staying cloudy and windy with Shetland seeing the most persistent rain, still heavy at times. More showery over Orkney with a few drier, brighter spells. Strong to gale force easterly winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Rather cloudy with scattered showers during the night, a few on the heavy side. Strong easterly winds easing later in the night. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Thursday 9th December:

Rather cloudy with further showers, heavy at times. Also some drier, brighter interludes. Strong easterly winds slowly easing down. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Rather cloudy, showery Friday then dry, bright start to Saturday. Band of rain and strong southerly winds crossing during afternoon. Bright spells, blustery showers and strong southwest winds on Sunday.
